Terms of Service

1. Service Agreement & Scope
By booking or receiving hair styling services from Emma Whitten, you agree to these terms. Services include: precision haircutting, color services (highlights, balayage, full color), event styling, extensions, treatments, and consultations — all performed by a licensed cosmetologist in accordance with Washington State regulations.
2. Booking & Appointment Policy
Appointments must be scheduled in advance through approved booking methods (social media or in-person). A minimum 24-hour notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or no-shows will incur a 50% service charge. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule.
3. Payment Terms & Pricing
Payment is due in full at the time of service completion. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, Venmo, and other approved digital payment methods. Prices are subject to change and will be confirmed at booking. A non-refundable deposit may be required for services exceeding 3 hours or for special events.
4. Health, Safety & Disclosure Requirements
Clients must disclose all allergies, medical conditions, medications, previous chemical treatments, and pregnancy status that may affect hair services. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in service refusal. Patch tests are mandatory for first-time color clients. Emma reserves the right to refuse service if health or safety concerns arise.
5. Service Expectations & Results
Color services may require multiple sessions to achieve desired results, especially when lightening dark hair or correcting previous color work. Results may vary based on hair condition, porosity, and previous treatments. Emma will work with clients to achieve realistic expectations.
6. Liability & Risk Acknowledgment
Hair styling and chemical services involve inherent risks including allergic reactions, hair breakage, and unexpected color results. While Emma takes every precaution and follows industry standards, she is not liable for results that differ from expectations or damage resulting from client failure to follow aftercare instructions.
7. Photo Release & Marketing
By receiving services, you consent to before/after photos being taken for portfolio, social media, and marketing purposes unless explicitly declined in writing before service begins. Photos may be used across all marketing platforms. No compensation will be provided for use of your likeness.
8. Refund & Correction Policy
Due to the nature of hair services, refunds are generally not provided. If unsatisfied with results, clients must contact Emma within 48 hours to discuss correction options. Correction services may be provided at Emma's discretion within 2 weeks of original service.
9. Professional Conduct
Emma maintains a professional, clean, and safe working environment. Clients are expected to maintain respectful behavior during services. Emma reserves the right to terminate services for inappropriate conduct. Services will be charged in full regardless of completion status.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Washington State. Any disputes will be resolved in Spokane County courts. These terms constitute the entire agreement between Emma Whitten and the client.
